WAF What?
WAF is an acronym for “Wife Acceptance Factor”. It is defined by Wikipedia as “an estimation of the wife’s acceptance or refusal of a new [technology] acquisition by the husband”. The term applies to geeky hobbies including speakers, computers, phones, and TV’s, and even crosses over to automobiles and sports outings. While perhaps not as trendy as LOL, BRB, BFF, TTYL, the WAF acronym has grown in popularity. In fact, a quick check of our internal Cisco personnel directory shows 54 people currently consider themselves an “expert” on WAF.
So this blog is dedicated to documenting my own high WAF achievements, and also admitting when I’ve missed the mark. My goal is to help you, my fellow geeky married guys, achieve the highest WAF rates possible.
