My Setup
Production system:
- HP M9000T Media Center “server” (in a closet, no monitor), two Avermedia PCIx ATSC Tuners, two external ATI Digital Cable Tuners (Comcast), 2GB RAM, dual 160GB Hard Drives (RAID 1 mirror for OS), 750GB HD for Recorded TV. Vista Ultimate x64, MyMovies 2.5x
- Infrant (now NetGear) ReadyNAS Duo, 500GB RAID 1 mirror, for music, photos, data, etc. External 750GB for DVD movie backups
- Five viewing locations (yes, embarrassing, we have 5 TV’s), three connected with XBOX360’s (wired), two connected via Linksys DMA2200 extenders (wireless, 5GHz 802.11n)
- Linksys 600N Dual Band Wireless N and router (running DD-WRT opensource firmware)
- Comcast digital cable and internet
Test system (highly recommended to have a test system to try everything out first before forcing it on the family!):
- DIY-built Core2 duo with Windows 7 Ultimate (32 and 64-bit, dual boot), 2GB RAM, 4x 250GB Hard Drives
- XBOX360
- Linksys Extenders
